As your local Member of Parliament, an issue raised with me time and again by residents living on Gloucester Road, Newchapel Road and wider Kidsgrove area is the state of the road surface and road safety on Gloucester Road/Newchapel Road.
As a main arterial road linking Kidsgrove, Talke and Newchapel together, it is frequently used as a route to avoid the town centre.
The road also has four local schools off it – Kidsgrove Primary School, Kidsgrove Secondary School, St John’s the Evangelist Catholic Academy and Bluebell School – which is a special educational needs school.
This is in addition to a day nursery, Maple Tree Court Care home and the recently installed pump track at Newchapel Rec.
It is therefore critical that this road is both safe for residents and schoolchildren alike, as well as smooth and pothole-free for motorists and local residents living along the road.
I have written to Staffordshire County Council to request the resurfacing of this key road, however I need YOUR help to emphasise to the Council how important the resurfacing and improvements to the road's safety will be.
That's why I have launched my petition below - so please add your name to help my campaign to resurface Gloucester Road and Newchapel Road.
