Tourism to Stoke-on-Trent

Last weekend I was pleased to meet Cllr Lorraine Beardmore, Cabinet Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure at Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Enjoy Staffs.

A great conversation about how we can bring about more tourism to Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke. Couldn’t have thought of a better venue than Middleport Pottery, a huge attraction to our city and region.

Across Staffordshire leisure tourism accounts for 32,000 jobs and business tourism accounts for another 10,500 jobs along with being worth £316 to our county’s economy.

To grow our torism we need to regenerate our original Town’s in Burslem and Tunstall, improve public transport (train and bus), have more quality hotel and Bed & Breakfast beds to encourage people to stay overnight and to become one of the five Tourism Zones VisitEngland want to create.

I will work with the City Council, Enjoy Staffordshire, the local LEP and the other MP’s for Staffordshire so we can show off our amazing culture and heritage.
