Supermarkets

Shop openings as at 23rd March

Special opening hours for the vulnerable categories of shopper, such as the elderly and those most at risk, as well as NHS staff and social care workers, have been put in place by major supermarket chains such as ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Iceland and others. Other measures - such as new cleaning stations, reduced opening hours, limits on items and social distancing practices - have also been introduced.

Everyone should limit going out for shopping as far as you can and you must stay at least 6 Feet or 2 Metres away from others whenever you’re away from your home – this will be difficult in supermarkets but do what you can. Wash your hands when leaving home and when returning home and keep them away from your face at all times. If you are in a vulnerable category you should seek to get family, friends or a known volunteer group to do your shopping.

Use contactless, (new card limit of £45.00) and cashless payments wherever possible.
