I need your help to immediately bring an end to the use of hotels in Stoke-on-Trent by Serco as temporary accommodation for asylum seekers and illegal economic migrants as part of the UK asylum and immigration system.
Decades ago, Stoke-on-Trent voluntarily entered the asylum dispersal scheme, but enough is enough.
We have done our bit for this country to protect some of the vulnerable people and illegal economic migrants who come here through safe countries such as France.
I know that like me, many across Stoke-on-Trent, Kidsgrove and Talke are sick of hotels being used across our great city and being dumped on by Serco because we voluntarily entered the scheme. People are rightly angry and outraged about local services being depleted while services elsewhere are strengthened.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the 3 MPs are against it for good reason given the vulnerable position of some hotels and the communities they sit close to.
If you agree that Stoke-on-Trent has done its bit, please sign your name below. Let's send a message to the government that the time is now to end the use of hotels in Stoke-on-Trent for this purpose.
