Success - End Serco's Abuse of the North Stafford Hotel

Following the use of hotels in Stoke-on-Trent for illegal migrants, Jonathan started a petition, campaigning for Serco to immediately bring an end to the use of hotels in Stoke-on-Trent by Serco as temporary accommodation for asylum seekers and illegal economic migrants as part of the UK asylum and immigration system.

Decades ago, Stoke-on-Trent voluntarily entered the asylum dispersal scheme, but Jonathan said "enough is enough."

Stoke-on-Trent did its bit for this country to protect some of the vulnerable people and illegal economic migrants who come here through safe countries such as France.

Many across Stoke-on-Trent, Kidsgrove and Talke are sick of hotels being used across our great city and being dumped on by Serco because we voluntarily entered the scheme. People were rightly angry and outraged about local services being depleted while services elsewhere are strengthened.

After Jonathan's petition received thousands of signatures, and tireless lobbying in Parliament to put pressure on the Home Office, it was confirmed that the North Stafford Hotel would be emptied of illegal migrants and Serco would leave.
