£4.3 million of Government funding awarded to the Royal Stoke for children's A&E.
Children, young people and their families are set to benefit from new facilities which have been able to open at the Royal Stoke University Hospital thanks to £4.3 million from the Government.
The upgraded facilities will help reduce overcrowding and limit the risk from further outbreaks of coronavirus ahead of winter pressures.
The £4.3 million has been used to increase the waiting area space and develop additional bays in the Children’s Emergency Department at Royal Stoke, allowing staff to further prepare for winter and improve facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The improvements will help to ensure adequate social distancing and redevelop the new Children’s Assessment Unit (CAU) and Children’s Outpatients area.
